Online Applicant Testing

FAQs for organisations

How do I start using you?

If you go to “Register” on our site there is a simple registration form, when that is received by our finance department they carry out a standard due diligence and then send you a link to a full registration usually within a working day. The first form takes about 2 minutes to complete and the second should take under 10 minutes. Once that is done you are clear to go.

How easy it is to manage?

We have never had a client who is unable to understand the system fully after a 20 minute Zoom/Teams demo – most have not even needed that as it is very intuitive. Even setting up additional users on your account is simple.

How are we billed?

The normal method is that at the beginning of each month an invoice for completed assessment taken in the preceding month is automatically generated and sent to the email address you enter in your account details. You can instead purchase “credits” up front if that is a better fit with your procurement processes – just ask your account manager for details.

Do you give pass marks for each assessment?

No, we believe it better you create internal benchmarks using existing staff so you can tailor to your own specific needs (talk to your account manager regarding this).

When do I use Simusuite tools?

You may want to look at how companies use Simusuite but usually we are used either after initial sift to determine who best to interview, or as a means of scoring applicants between first and subsequent interviews to allow objective decisions to be made. Some organisations also use us after initial training/probation to measure the effectiveness of their induction programme.

How do I use “profiles”?

Profiles allow you to assign a selection of assessments for a particular role that can then be set with a single click. You could for example have a profile called “Finance” which included Numeracy, Verbal Reasoning, Logic and Email Response and a separate one called “Call Centre” containing Simulated call environment, Audio Comprehension and Spelling. When you decided to assess an applicant you can just choose “Finance” or “Call Centre” and the correct selection would be chosen and the invite created.

Can I get a reference on your service?

Yes, ask your account manager and we will put you in touch (or see testimonials on this page).

What machines can applicant use for the assessments?

Pretty much any machine (Windows/Mac or Android) manufactured in the last 10 years should be able to run our assessments and they work with all major browsers. The system checks for compatibility before commencement and there are instructional vides built in to the assessment with audio elements which ensure everything is optimised before the questions start.

How long do the assessments take?

There is a time range listed by each module, most will automatically time out if the applicants walks away once started. Each module can be taken together or as a discrete session but all have to be completed by the midnight of the date you set as an expiry.

How will I know when the assessment has been taken?

There are a selection of notification options you can choose in the dashboard that allow you to receive an email upon completion/abandonment or expiry. As the account owner you can also add extra users, choose their level of account privilages and even see the results of assessments they set if you wish.

Is it GDPR/DPA compliant?

You do not need to enter applicants’ personal details into our system, if you wish you could use reference numbers, or you can use names if you wish. Importantly, you never enter their email addresses or contact details into Simusuite ensuring it is compliant by design with no privacy issues at all.

Does it have an API to tie into my ATS?

As the Simusuite system does not communicate directly with applicants this would be a bit of overengineering and create possible security issues. The assessment invitations are created as PDFs which can be easily sent out as an attachment by your ATS and the resultant scored report is also a PDF allowing easy attachment to an applicants record. There are additional methods to mass upload applicants for assessment using an excel template which we are happy to demonstrate upon request.
