Online Applicant Testing

What to do if your test does not work

It is very unusual for a test not to run on any system however occasionally problems can occur. Here’s what you should check if you are having difficulties.

Are you using a VPN (connecting to the internet via a corporate network)? If so, some companies will have very strict rules about which websites that can be accessed or the type of pages/scripts that can be run. In which case, try to connect directly to the internet if at all possible.

Firewalls. If your computer connection is behind a firewall, this can sometimes cause problems. Please ensure that www.simusuite.com as a “whitelisted” site.

Your computer, operating system or browser may be too old. This is a particular problem with older AppleMacs, often with an operating system version older than Catalina (10.15.7) or an older version of Safari. In most cases this can be overcome by downloading Chrome browser. Go to www.google.com/chrome to find the download link.

Are you using a tablet (iPad) or mobile phone? It is not advisable to take most of the tests on a mobile or tablet. In some cases, the system will prevent you from taking a test on one of these devices because it will significantly disadvantage you. You will find it much easier to use a laptop or PC however if you do not have access to either of those but you have a separate keyboard that you can connect to your pad or phone, that will make taking the test much easier. If at all possible, use a laptop or PC.

If a test fails, you will need to let the employer know so that they are aware. They may be able to reset any failed tests for you, however that is their sole decision.
